COQS

The Certified Outcomes and Quality Specialist (COQS) is a professional certification designed to recognize individuals who have demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills, and expertise in OASIS item and guidance application, Medicare OASIS regulations, and application of OASIS data.

Candidates should possess the following work experience:

• Clinical Background – RN (Registered Nurse), PT (Physical Therapist), OT (Occupational Therapist), SLP (Speech Language Pathologist) (field clinicians eligible to complete OASIS)
  • Recommended experience as a home health clinician with at least one year of experience in home health completing the OASIS
  • Understanding of home health documentation requirement
• Non-Clinical Reviewers
  • Understanding of home health and experience with CMS (Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services) guidance on the OASIS document
  • Ability to read and understand clinical documentation
  • Good critical thinking and logic skills, attention to detail

Educational preparation through WellSky is not required prior to taking the exam and a pass/fail of the certification exam is not solely linked to WellSky education.
